Art Teacher

Mrs. Spainhour was born in New York City, NY.  Her family later moved to Maryland and there her mother got saved.  They started attending Riverdale Baptist Church in Riverdale, Maryland.  When Carmen was 10 years old, the church had a Children's Crusade.  It was there that she accepted Christ as her Savior.  Two years later, the family moved to North Carolina and joined Woodland Baptist Church.  She graduated from South Stokes High School in 1980.  She attended and graduated from Surry Community College in 1982 with an Associate in Arts degree.  She then attended Appalachian State University.  She was very active in the Baptist Student Union, yet she missed Woodland very much.  She would come home every weekend to attend her home church.  Mrs. Spainhour finished college in 1984 with a Bachelor in Arts degree, majoring in Spanish Education and minoring in Psychology.  She is now married with two children, Hannah, 15 and Micah, 10.  They both attend WBCS.
