3rd Grade Teacher

I have always loved children and surrendering to the ministry of Woodland Baptist Christian School has been the happiest experience in my life.

For many years before going to work at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center I worked with children at Horizon’s residential care as an education specialist, Forsyth County schools, at Kerwin Baptist Christian School, and for ten years at Gospel Light Christian School as the First Aid Coordinator and Health/CPR teacher.  I probably have over ten years of tutoring experience and have a vision of God planting a Christian tutoring/resource center at Woodland.

The need to understand the Word in order to be a better teacher drove me to seek a Bible degree.  Junior High Sciences are my minor.  My experiences and the many classes required, to work at Amos Cottage for almost five years, have allowed me to gain an understanding of the various behaviors exhibited in children.  I have found combining learning styles, personality profiles, skill levels, and an enormous amount of prayer (what our pastor calls “Kneeology”) can often give the best insight into how to help a child. 

Please keep me in your prayers as I minister to your children this year.  It is my desire they learn first about God and His direction for their lives.  If they accept Him early and learn to allow Him to lead them in everything, they will live happier more successful lives, which will in turn bring Him all of the glory for what He has done (Colossians 1:12-20).  Ultimately it is all about Him!

Please know that I will carry on the tradition of never allowing the children to say “I can’t” or that something is “too hard” because I believe that your child can do anything and together we will show everyone this is true!
