Teresa Roop was born on October 7, 1959 in Winston-Salem, NC. and saved at Temple Baptist Church in Lewisville on July 12, 1981. Teresa made a profession of faith as a 5 year old, developed a passion for teaching, and served in church ministries as well as attending Piedmont Bible College. She married Ed Roop on May 24, 1980. After the birth of their first child, God convicted Teresa that if the rapture occurred, her family would be in Heaven and she would be in Hell, lost in her sins. She received Christ as her Savior and surrendered to do His will. She graduated from Piedmont in 1982 and started teaching at Union Grove Christian School in Lexington. After two years, she moved to Dublin, Va., and taught at New River Christian Academy while her husband pastored Grace Baptist Church. The Roopʼs moved back to Winston-Salem and Teresa began to teach at WBCS in August, 1986. She has taken graduate courses from Bethany Theological Seminary and Liberty University and hopes to attain both a master and doctorate in the near future.
She has served as both a high school and elementary teacher.
Mrs. Roop's three children, now married, are graduates of WBCS and involved in Christian education. She has two grandchildren, Alexa and Tabitha, both of whom she treasures. She loves old Jimmy Stewart movies, cooking shows, and keeping a journal for her devotions.
